Quisqueya Stadium final touches for MLB Dominican Republic Series

Santo Domingo.- The MLB Dominican Republic Series featuring the Tampa Bay Rays and the Boston Red Sox is making significant strides as it approaches. Scheduled for this Saturday, March 9, and Sunday, March 10 at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, the event promises not only thrilling baseball but also additional attractions.

Preparations for the preseason games include the construction of a new batter’s box on the left field side, adding to the overall enhancement of the venue. Limited tickets are available for this highly anticipated event, as highlighted by the organizers.

Major League Baseball and Uepatickets have confirmed that the capital’s baseball park is now suitable for hosting spring training games, with final touches being applied to the entire facility. The playing field has undergone renovation, utilizing special materials imported from the United States for the reconditioning of the high-impact grass. This meticulous preparation ensures that the mounds and home plate meet the highest MLB standards.

Further details about the MLB Dominican Republic Series, including information about artistic shows and the participation of personalities from baseball and national life, will be announced by the organizers in due course.

Notable MLB Dominican Republic figures, including José Siri, Junior Caminero, and Amed Rosario for the Rays, alongside Rafael Devers, Brayan Bello, Pablo Reyes, and Emmanuel Valdez of the Red Sox, will lead the Dominican representation on the field.

This series marks the return of Major League Baseball to the country for the first time since 2020 when the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers held an exhibition game at the same Quisqueya Stadium. For the Boston Red Sox, it is a return to Santo Domingo, a city they visited in 2000 for a preseason series against the Houston Astros. The Tampa Bay Rays will be making their first appearance.

Organizers have announced the availability of tickets for both games, which can be purchased at mlb.com/dominican and uepatickets.com. Box A seats are priced at RD$6,800, Box AA at RD$3,350, preferences at RD$2,900, AA expansion boxes at RD$2,200, and stands at RD$1,150.
