Santo Domingo.- On Tuesday, a C-17 Globemaster III, a powerful military transport aircraft from the United States Department of Defense, arrived in the Dominican Republic carrying a significant humanitarian donation for vulnerable communities in the northern part of the country.
The aid was delivered under the Denton Program, which facilitates the transport of humanitarian shipments from American NGOs to developing nations. This particular donation, provided by the organization Global Samaritan Resources, includes 1,260 boxes of fortified rice and protein-rich foods, totaling 41,600 pounds. The aid is destined for the Go MAD Foundation in Sosúa, Puerto Plata, and is expected to benefit over 100,000 individuals, including 25,000 women, 15,000 men, and 60,000 children.
This effort underscores the United States’ commitment to supporting underserved communities in the region through collaborative initiatives with local and international organizations.
