Santo Domingo.- Minister of Tourism David Collado announced that Marella Cruises has selected the Dominican Republic as its home port in La Romana, with weekly visits planned during the winter season. This decision will result in the arrival of four flights from England each time the Explorer 2 docks in Dominican ports.
The agreement was reached during the Dominican Republic’s participation in the Seatrade Cruise Global 2024, which Minister Collado described as highly successful.
“Another milestone towards our goal of becoming the top destination for cruise tourists,” remarked Collado on his social media platforms. “Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) at this event, where we showcased the dynamism, culture, and warmth of our people to the world.”
Collado emphasized, “Let’s continue to strive for more tourism opportunities for our country and its people!”
